THE RESULT IS A MAP WHICH IS CREATED AND CONTINUOUSLY GETS UPDATED BY THE USERS<\/h3>\n<p>[\/fullbox]<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/wecity.carto.com\/builder\/1b7569b4-05fe-4f22-9d76-a0ba11cb695d\/embed\" width=\"100%\" height=\"520\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>[one_half last=&#8221;no&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">On a scale from 0 to 5, <strong>the safety level according to Florentine cyclists is 2.32<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">By using the &#8220;safety rate&#8221; function in the wecity app, the users sent thousands of reviews covering 300 km of urban streets. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">The result is an ever<strong> changing map generated by the people<\/strong> that indicates the safest and less safe areas to cycle in. Said by those who cycle on those roads every day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">But let&#8217;s take a step back. A few months ago, we launched an innovative function called <strong>safety rate<\/strong>, which allows cyclists to vote for the route taken: 1 star for dangerous routes, up to 5 stars for the safest ones (separate bike lanes , restricted traffic zones). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"><em>Much like reviewing a restaurant on Tripadvisor<\/em> but instead of reviewing food or the service, you evaluate the safety of the route. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">User&#8217;s response has gone far beyond our expectations, this is a sign that cycling is something that is increasingly popular. <strong>Florence is the first city to have this type of mapping<\/strong>, which will be constantly updated to track changes (hopefully positive ones) in city traffic and the tolerance between cars, cyclists and pedestrians. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">It&#8217;s this desire to discover a bicycle-friendly city that has made Florence the opening stage for Sunrise Bikeride: Saturday 22nd April, an exciting, non competitive ride at dawn to savour the city without traffic and noise. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">We invite all sunrisers to download the app and help by voting in order to increase the information that we have already made available to everyone.
